I will be tinkering with Tesla coils and other electromagnetic devices in hopes of replicating the Hutchison Effect and other exotic physical phenomena.
The full progress will be on mes.fm/ufo, with all articles being on the Hive blockchain.
This first article will outline what I have done so far.
Tesla Coil
I bought this Tesla Coil on February 20, 2025 for $217 CAD including shipping, which was recommended by Grok AI.
This is a 250W solid-state Tesla coil (SSTC) and its specifications is listed below, as tabulated by Claude AI.
| Type | Solid-State Tesla Coil (SSTC), music-reactive |
| Average power | 250W |
| Input voltage | 110–220V AC |
| Working current | 0.1–2A |
| Arc length | Up to 20cm+, adjustable |
| Drive signal | Coaxial cable (no fiber optic), 3.5mm audio input for music modulation |
| Size | 100 x 100 x 200mm (3.9 x 3.9 x 7.9") |
| Weight | 874g |
| Notes | No ground wire required; runs directly off wall socket |
The Tesla Coil arrived on March 21, 2025.
On March 26, 2025 I got the Tesla Coil to work and spark up! It also caused buzzing in my ear headphones, and got super loud and painful during the spark in my ears! I NEED a Faraday cage ASAP! ⚡️😨
This experience caused me to take safety precautions for every step of my experimentation.
Faraday Cage
On October 1, 2025 I ordered wire mesh to serve as a Faraday cage.
On October 31, 2025 I ordered a metal pet fence to serve as the base for the Faraday cage.
On March 18, 2026 I began wrapping the wire mesh around the pet fence.
Grounding wire and clamp
On July 8, 2026 I ordered 10 ft 6 AWG copper wire (archive) to ground the Faraday cage to my house ground wire, as per the instructions from Grok AI.
Also on July 8, 2026 I ordered 2 copper grond rod clamps (archive) to clamp the copper wire to the house ground rod.
House ground rod
Here are photos of the house ground rod which is located outside of my garage.
