- Where do I get HBD?
- On Hive: earn it from posts, convert HIVE to HBD in your wallet (PeakD, Ecency or Keychain), or buy HIVE / HBD on an exchange and send it to your Hive account. 1 HBD is meant to be worth about 1 US dollar.
- Is my payment private?
- No. Every Hive transfer is public: anyone can see that your account sent 1 HBD to @mes with the memo "mes.fm ad-free". If you would rather not show that, use another Hive account. See the privacy policy.
- How does mes.fm know I paid?
- After you log in and pay, this page asks mes.fm's server, which reads your account's transfers to @mes from the blockchain (and your recurrent transfer, if you subscribed) and answers "ad-free until …". This browser remembers that date and checks again once a day, so when a subscription ends the ads come back by themselves.
- What does it switch off?
- All Google AdSense ads on every mes.fm page: Auto ads, the sidebar ads, the ad above the footer. The "More like this" cards and everything else stay.
- Could someone fake it?
- Ad-free is a setting in your own browser, so anyone could switch ads off without paying, the same way an ad blocker does. Paying is how you support mes.fm without seeing ads. Thank you!
- How do I cancel?
- Press Cancel my subscription above (Keychain sets the recurrent transfer to 0, which removes it), or remove it in Keychain / your PeakD wallet. What you already paid keeps counting until it runs out.
- No Hive Keychain on my phone?
- Use the Hive Keychain app and open mes.fm/premium in its built-in browser, or pay on a computer; then log in on the phone's Keychain browser to switch the ads off there.
