MES Ratings: Top Rated Pages and Feedback
The top rated, most rated and recently rated mes.fm calculators, tools and tutorials, from the Rate this page stars at the bottom of every page. Fair Bayesian ranking, filter by section, and send us feedback through the contact form.
Every mes.fm page has a small row of stars at the bottom, just above the comments: Rate this page. These are the results. A page needs 5 ratings before its average is shown, and the ranking uses a fair average so one lucky 5-star vote cannot put a page on top.

How the ranking works
The fair average. A page with one 5-star rating should not beat a page with 200 ratings averaging 4.8. So every page starts as if it already had 5 ratings of 4 stars, and its real ratings are added to those: score = (sum of stars + 4 × 5) ÷ (number of ratings + 5). With few ratings a page sits near 4; with many, the score is its real average. This is called a Bayesian average.
One vote per person. Each browser has one vote per page; rating again replaces your earlier rating. Only a few different browsers from one internet connection can rate the same page in 30 days (a school or office shares one connection), and there is an hourly limit, so a script cannot stuff the results.
Privacy. A rating stores the page, the stars, a random number your browser makes up for itself, and for 30 days a scrambled (hashed) form of your internet address, never the address itself. No text you write is stored. See the privacy policy.
