Font Preview: See Your Text in Every Font, and Find a Font from a Picture
Free online font previewer: type your text and see it in every font on your computer at once, with size, colour, shadow, outline, gradient and glow. Make marketing text, download a transparent PNG or copy the CSS, compare fonts side by side, and find a font from a picture. Private: nothing is uploaded.
Only fonts your browser can really draw are listed, so every sample is honest. Google Fonts are downloaded from Google when you press the button (that is the only thing that leaves your computer); everything else stays here.
Tick the star-pick button Compare on up to four fonts in Browse fonts, then see them side by side here with your text and style.
Find a font from a picture. Add a picture of the text (a screenshot, a logo, a photo of a sign), drag a box around one line of it, and type the words it says. The page draws those words in every font it has and ranks the ones that look most like your picture. It runs entirely in your browser: nothing is uploaded.
Other free font identifiers (these work from a picture too, and are better at fonts you do not have installed, but they upload your picture to their own site):
Tip: crop tightly to one line, make sure the letters are straight and not touching, and use a big, clear picture.
Preview your text in every font
Type a headline, a name or a slogan and see it in every font on your computer at once, with your size, colours, shadow, outline, gradient and glow. Pick the one you like, copy the CSS for your website or download a PNG with a transparent background for a thumbnail, banner or sale sign.
Questions
Why do I see only some fonts?
The page lists only fonts your browser can actually draw. A website cannot read your font folder, so it asks the browser, font by font, whether each name is really installed. Press Add 80 popular Google Fonts for a large, free set that works on every device, or add a font file you own.
Will the PNG look the same on another computer?
Yes: the PNG is a picture, so it looks exactly like the preview. The CSS only looks the same where that font is available, so for websites use a Google Font or host the font file yourself.
How does the picture matcher work?
It turns your picture into black and white, crops to the ink, shrinks it to a small grid, does the same for your words in each font, and compares the shapes (and the proportions of the text). It is a simple, honest comparison, not an AI: it works well for clear, straight text and fonts it can draw. For a font you do not have, try the other identifiers listed on the page.
Is it private?
Yes. Your text, pictures and favourites stay in your browser (favourites are saved in this browser only). The only network request is the Google Fonts download you start yourself.
