Grade 4 reading (literacy) practice
Each test gives you short passages to read: stories, information texts with headings, poems and notices or posters. The questions practise the reading skills the FSA looks for: finding details, working out word meanings from the text, making inferences, the main idea or lesson, putting events in order, text features such as headings and tables, why an author made a choice, and a short written answer that uses details from the passage. The passage stays on screen next to the questions, so you can look back at it, just like on the real test.
Questions
- How should I answer the written questions?
- Answer in full sentences, say your idea clearly, and back it up with one or two details from the passage. The model answer at the end shows what a full answer looks like.
