Grade 4 numeracy practice

Questions cover what a Grade 4 student in B.C. works on: place value and rounding to 100 000, number lines, adding and subtracting, multiplication facts and multiplying by one digit, dividing with remainders, fractions of a shape and equivalent fractions, tenths and hundredths, counting Canadian coins and making change, reading a clock and elapsed time, perimeter and area, metric units, 2-D shapes, 3-D objects and symmetry, number patterns and input/output tables, bar graphs, pictographs and chance. Each question is marked easy, medium or hard and shows the grade it fits, so a Grade 3 student can start with easy questions and a strong Grade 4 student can try hard ones.

Questions

Can my child use a calculator?
Try without one first: most questions are about understanding, not long sums. For checking work at home, a calculator is fine.
What if the answer has money or units?
Type just the number (for example 3.75 for $3.75, or 24 for 24 cm). Commas and spaces in big numbers are fine.
