About Pacific Time, PCT (Vancouver & Richmond, BC)
British Columbia has stopped changing its clocks. After the last “spring forward” on March 8, 2026, the province stays on Pacific Time all year, which is UTC−7, and on September 17, 2026 the B.C. government named PCT as its official abbreviation. On November 1, 2026, when clocks would have gone back an hour, nothing changes in B.C. (B.C. government announcement). Before that, Richmond and Vancouver used Pacific Daylight Time (PDT, UTC−7) in summer and Pacific Standard Time (PST, UTC−8) in winter, and this converter still shows PST/PDT for those earlier dates.
Seattle, Portland and Los Angeles are not affected: they still fall back to PST (UTC−8) in November, so from then until mid-March Vancouver is one hour ahead of them. A few northern and southeastern B.C. communities that already kept Mountain Time are unchanged.
Common conversions from 1:00 PM in Vancouver
From mid-March to early November, 1:00 PM in Vancouver is about 4:00 PM in New York and Toronto, 9:00 PM in London, 10:00 PM in Paris and Berlin, 1:30 AM the next day in Mumbai, and 5:00 AM the next day in Tokyo. Because Vancouver no longer changes its clock, the rest of the year the zones that do fall back shift by an hour: 3:00 PM in New York and Toronto, 8:00 PM in London and 9:00 PM in Paris and Berlin, while Mumbai and Tokyo stay the same. Does this handle daylight saving time?
Yes. All conversions are computed from the official IANA time-zone database that ships with your browser, so DST start/end dates, historical changes and permanent-DST regions are all accounted for automatically. B.C.’s new year-round Pacific Time (PCT, UTC−7) is built in as well, so it stays correct even if your browser’s time-zone data is out of date.
