Kid-proof screen
Fill window covers the whole browser window; Full screen covers the whole screen. Inside either one, the page asks before the browser leaves it, the Back button stays on the cards, the Escape key does nothing, and to get out you hold โ for 2 seconds. A browser's own shortcuts (closing the tab, switching apps) can't be blocked by a web page: on a phone or tablet, Guided Access (iPhone / iPad) or Screen pinning (Android) locks the device to this page.
Animal sound credits (public domain and CC0 recordings)
Every recording is from Wikimedia Commons and is in the public domain or under CC0, so it is free for anyone to use. We trimmed each one to a few seconds and evened out the volume. Animals without a free recording (cow, tiger, mouse) say their sound with the voice instead.
ABC flashcards that say the letter
A to Z, one big letter at a time, with a picture and its word: "A. A is for apple." Cards go in order by default (or shuffled), and on a keyboard, pressing a letter jumps to that letter's card, so even key-bashing teaches something.
What's this? says "Find the letter B!" and your child picks the right letter out of two, three or four. Grown-ups (hold โ๏ธ for 2 seconds) can show capital and small letters together (Aa), capitals only (A) or small letters only (a).
Questions
- Does it say the letter name or the sound?
