Flashcards for Toddlers: Talking Picture Cards (Free, No Ads)

Free talking flashcards for toddlers: big shuffled picture cards of animals, colours, shapes, food, things, vehicles and body parts that say each word aloud, plus a What's this? picture game. Swipe, kid-proof full screen, no ads.

Animal sound credits (public domain and CC0 recordings)

Every recording is from Wikimedia Commons and is in the public domain or under CC0, so it is free for anyone to use. We trimmed each one to a few seconds and evened out the volume. Animals without a free recording (cow, tiger, mouse) say their sound with the voice instead.

    Flashcards for toddlers that talk

Big, bright picture cards that say their word out loud: animals, colours, shapes, food, everyday things, vehicles and body parts (and letters and numbers, if you turn them on). Cards come shuffled, so it's a little different every time. Swipe, tap the arrows or use the arrow keys to move on; tap the picture to hear the word again.

    How to use it

    • Look & listen: one card at a time, picture, word and voice.
    • What's this?: the page says a word ("Find the banana!") and your child taps the right picture. A wrong tap just says what that picture is ("That's the apple. Try again!"), and every right answer earns a star.
    • Grown-ups (hold โš™๏ธ for 2 seconds): choose the categories, hide the word to quiz, letter case (Cat, CAT, cat), a slideshow that moves on by itself, the voice, speed and pitch.

    Questions

    Can I hide the word?
Yes: untick "Show the word" in the grown-ups' settings, then ask "what's this?" yourself, or tap the picture to hear the answer.
Does it work on a tablet?
Yes, it is made for touch: big buttons, swipe between cards, and a kid-proof Fill window / Full screen mode.
    Is it free?
Yes, with no ads, no account and nothing uploaded.
