Animal Sounds for Kids: Real Recordings of 30 Animals (Free, No Ads)

Animal sounds for toddlers and kids: big pictures of 33 animals that say their name and play a real recording, from dog, cat and cow to lion, elephant and whale, plus a Who says moo? game. Free, no ads.

Animal sound credits (public domain and CC0 recordings)

Every recording is from Wikimedia Commons and is in the public domain or under CC0, so it is free for anyone to use. We trimmed each one to a few seconds and evened out the volume. Animals without a free recording (cow, tiger, mouse) say their sound with the voice instead.

Animal sounds for kids, with real recordings

Tap through 33 animals: each card shows the animal big, says its name, then plays a real recording of the animal: a dog barking, a cat meowing, a rooster crowing, a lion roaring, an elephant trumpeting, a whale singing and more. Three animals (cow, tiger and mouse) have no free recording we could use, so the voice says their sound ("Moo!") instead. Press Animal sound to hear just the sound again.

What's this? plays the sound and asks "Who says moo? Find the cow!" and your child taps the right animal out of two, three or four.

Can I turn the recordings off?
Yes: hold โš™๏ธ Grown-ups for 2 seconds and untick "Play real animal recordings"; the voice then says the sound word ("Woof woof") instead.
